National Boost for Adult Basic Skills August 2000
The Department for Education and Employment has released more than £20m to drive forward a renewed national campaign to reduce the number of adults with low levels of literacy and numeracy. We are in the forefront of many of these develoments - and need to maintain this momentum if we are to halve the adult need in Birmingham from more than 140,000 to less than 70,000 within 10 years.
