In February, prior to the launch of the national adult literacy and numeracy strategy, Susan Pember - Director of the new National Strategy Unit - gave a seminar to an audience of 120 people drawn from the majority of training, education and service organisations in Birmingham.
The seminar was introduced by David Cragg, Executive Director of Birmingham & Solihull Learning and Skills Council; and was chaired by Roy Pinney, Cabinet Member for Education and Lifelong Learning, Birmingham City Council.
The photograph to the right shows Susan, Roy and David together with Javed Khan (Assistant Director, Lifelong Learning, Birmingham City Council) and Geoff Bateson (Partnership Manager, Birmingham Core Skills Development Partnership), at the start of the seminar. |
