- Do you take your child to the library, do you know what services the library offers? E.g. story telling, magazines / newspapers, computer links?
- Are you aware of family learning opportunities available through library, local colleges, childrens university, summer schools?
- Does the school provide opportunities for you talk to the school about what you hope your child will achieve in the short and long term?
- Do you attend school events? e.g.
- Assemblies

- curriculum meetings
- Does the school know what your interests and talents are?
- Do you understand the school policies for English and behaviour?
- Are you kept informed of your childs progress and the targets which have been set for her/him?
- Does the school offer you ways to become involved in supporting your childs learning?
- Does the school send out letters and circulars written in a way you can understand?
- Are you aware of what your child is learning and do you talk to her/him about this?
